Much like the previous post of Ilomilo, Little Big Planet owes most of it's success to it's charm and home-made-looking aesthetic. The first one was a commercial and critical success and still remains one of the top played games on the PS3.
With the next installment, LBP2 seems to be everything about the first one, but just...more. Not only are all of the creative tools back, but this time, they've completely opened up the entire mechanic. Beta teams have already made racing games, both kart style and top-down view, third person shooters, spider-man clones, Rube Goldberg devices, vertical scrolling shooters, and much more. And that's just the beta. Along with all this, they are still including all the content people created for the first one. Now with the grappling hook announcement, this game seemingly has no stopping point.

Ilomilo
This game was announced last year, and since then, we haven't really seen much about it. It is a puzzle game to be released for Xbox Live Arcade sometime in the coming months. It has the charm of Little Big Planet with the strong puzzling elements we've come to expect from previous XBLA titles.

L.A. Noire
Oh, L.A. Noire. Sure it isn't 13 years, but 7 is still pretty crazy. This game was teased in 2004, and I've been riveted since then. It was originally a Playstation 3 exclusive, but a few years ago, Rockstar said that it will also come out on the Xbox 360 as well.

Hopefully, this doesn't stay stuck in development hell like a lot of other projects. It is now slated to be released sometime in 2011.

Bioshock Infinite
i think along with Fallout: New Vegas, this is the game I'm looking forward to the most. I always loved the world of Bioshock. The second one was great, but something was missing. Maybe what was missing really was Ken Levine. And since he's helming this one, i have great faith in it. so far they've said nothing about the game, save for being set in the early 20th century and takes place in Columbia, a city in the sky. Unfortunately, this is slated for a 2012 release date, so everyone's speculation will be as good as it gets right now. This picture was released yesterday, and appears to be what will be the Big Daddies of Columbia.
Origins of a Big Daddy? Why is that woman on the left still sweeping?
What is hard to tell from this picture (which you can click to enlarge), is if this is some sort of a cyborg or a full on machine man. From the trailer and the pictures, you can see a beating heart in the chest of him, but it cannot be confirmed whether the head is real or not. And again, this is just speculation (and hope), but it would be very interesting if they went the in the direction of making the head false, in order to make the machines less terrifying and have the people see them with more humanity. Kindof like a man in a suit at Disney world.
But overall, yes, this is a thing I'm very much looking forward to.
